well it basically means how high the car's "horse power" can get. If its a class D it's not gonna be that good of a car. Also I've noticed that the higher the class the faster the needle moves during races.

    Class A = 4500 coin, 150 xp per passenger
    Class B = 2000 coin, 70 xp per passenger
    Class C = 1100 coin, 40 xp per passenger
    Class D = 720 coin, 25 xp per passenger

The * class cars usually only have 1 passenger and are very expensive.

The "classes" determine how fast the cars run "in general". My friends race by class, mostly! Like in real life, you have little chance of beating a "A" class car, with a "D" class car, unless he red lights on the starting line. Racing by class makes the racing more fun,and leaves it up to Driver skill, instead of just over powering your opponent! I keep a car (one for) each "class" so as to have a fair race with my friends,no matter what class their car is in! It makes the racing more fun!

    still confused

ok, I am still confused. I just got the escalade for a test drive (class B) but I have the mustang (class C). I've seen some class D with just as much power as the escalade. So, I still have no idea what the class means.

Higher rank means higher cost to upgrade.

I think Escalade is rank B because it can takes 5 of your friends along with you during road trip.
My other guess is ranking represents their actual price in real life.

    I may be wrong tho...

that was my question too. I'm thinking it's how much you can upgrade your car.
